\nCeramic base and fabric lampshade embellished and personalized with the creator’s photo printed on canvas made by emerging artist Conti Simone, a young photographer who enriches design objects with his creations. Authentic signature on the bottom of the canvas. Elegant, simple lines make it an icon of this Italian manufacturer’s production.

\nMario Bellini is internationally renowned as an architect and designer. He has received the Golden Compass Award eight times, a Medaglia d’Oro from the Triennale di Milano and other prestigious architecture awards. 25 of his works in the permanent design collection of the New York Museum of Modern Art, which dedicated a personal retrospective to him in 1987.
\nBorn in Milan in 1935, Bellini attended the Politecnico di Milano for a degree in architecture. He graduated in 1959, and from the very beginning of his career, his prominence increased rapidly. From 1959 to 1962, Mario Bellini managed the design department of the Italian department store La Rinascente, and in 1963, he served as a chief design consultant for Olivetti, a role that he retained until 1993. Also in 1963, Bellini opened his own design studio, Studio Bellini, and created an array of innovative Italian furniture design pieces.
\nAs an independent consultant, he has also designed important furniture for Cassina, B & B Italia, and Vitra; electronic equipment for Brionvega and Yamaha; and lighting for Artemide, Flos, and Erco.
\nBetween 1985 and 1991 Bellini worked as Editor-in-Chief of the influential architecture and design magazine Domus.
\nHe has held countless art, design, and architecture exhibitions over the years, both in Italy and abroad. Since the 1980’s, dedicating himself almost entirely to architecture, the manifold projects he has designed include the Portello Trade Fair district in Milan, the Villa Erba Exhibition Centre in Cernobbio (Como), the Tokyo Design Centre in Japan, the Natuzzi America Headquarters in the United States, the Essen Expo Centre in Germany, the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, the headquarters of the Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt, the Verona Forum complex, the City History Museum in Bologna, the Department of Islamic Art at the Louvre in Paris, and the new Milan Convention Centre, the largest in Europe.
\nNowadays Bellini leads seminars and workshops at universities and other academic institutions around the world.<\/span><\/p>\n
