Vintage Design
The American architect George Nelson (1908 – 1986) is one of the most important designers of the 20th century. At the age of 16 he completed his architectural studies at the Elite University Yale. Nelson was also the publisher of several publications and designirector at the Herman Miller company. His furniture is timeless and are still made today. George Nelson designed that daybed in 1949. Production Herman Miller. with its differently positionable pillows, the bed is a real transformation artist. A professional restorer has extensively restored the frame made of solid elm wood. The old paint was completely removed. The wood was then re -stained and freshly painted. A upholstered studio from Zurich has newly made the foam mattress and cushions and freshly moved into with a Svensson Moss fabric, color 8600. The extremely robust fabric is made of 85% new wool and 15% polyamide. According to these restorations, the daybed is really in a new condition. The original nosa suspension is tight. The feet made of galvanized metal show no signs of wear. The covers are provided with zippers and can be removed for cleaning. Outside mass 190 x 83cm.
