Vintage Design
Sculptural coffee table by an unknown artist made in France in 1966. It’s got a unique shape, kind of like a mermaid, fish, dolphin, or organic being. It is made of black-painted beech wood. On top, there’s the original and pretty organic-shaped glass surface, and the black base has a nice original patina which is normal with a table this age. Its beautifully sculpted out of 1 piece of wood, which show the artists skillset in woodworking. The design reminds a bit of some pieces by Isamu Noguchi, Alexandre Noll or Wendell Castle. The front feels like a figure while the lower back had similarities to a fin. It’s signed “FA 66”. It’s got a stylish, artsy vibe. It fits well in modern homes, especially with more modernist furniture. It’s a perfect size for a living room, making it a lovely addition your home.
