Rare 1960s chairs by Osvaldo Borsani. Meticulously restored to bring out the chairs’ beauty, while preserving the desirable patina and evidence of age. Doubled steel legs, teak veneer, ergonomically molded seat and back, shock mount system. Impeccable Italian Mid-Century style. Produced by Borsani’s Tecno furniture company.
Osvaldo Borsani was born in 1911 in Italy. He studied architecture at the Polytechnic Institute of Milan until 1937. During his studies, he won the silver medal with the Casa Minima project for the Milan Triennial. Then, he worked with his father Gaetano Borsani for the familial company. In 1953, he decided to found the Tecno company with his twin brother Fulgenzio and met with great success thanks to impressive technology. The company also produced pieces of furniture for great names of Italian designers including Gio Ponti and Mario Bellini. Borsani is also one of the founders of the famous review of design Ottagno.
