Vintage Design
A unique set of 6 high back chairs made by an unknown artist from the south of France made in the 1960s. These chairs fit all the requirements for their brutalist interpretation of the artist. Rough wooden materials, elegantly crafted into an unornamented raw finished design. The solid olive wood has of course a rough look on its own, in this design its only empowering the shape. with beautiful, exposed joints where the seat was fixed to the back. The oversized holes at the top of the back are not only an interesting aesthetic of the design, it is also practical in use. As the chairs re made of solid wood and made of heavy quality, the handle is a necessary detail in the design. They also make the chairs look less heavy and in combination with the smooth carved edges, even somewhat elegant in a brutalist way.
