Mid 20th Century Set of 4 Jens Risom Mid-Century Modern Chairs

The Museum of Modern Art, the Yale University Art Gallery, the Brooklyn Museum, the Rhode Island School of Design Museum, and the Cooper–Hewitt, National Design Museum all have pieces of Risom’s furniture on display, many of which are regarded as modern classics. Margrethe II of Denmark awarded Risom the Danish Knight’s Cross in 1996. Risom had been a Rhode Island School of Design trustee for a long time.

Jens Risom (/ˈdʒɛns ˈriːsəm/ JENSS REE-səm; 8 May 1916 – 9 December 2016) was a Danish American furniture designer. An exemplar of Mid-Century modern design, Risom was one of the first designers to introduce Scandinavian design in the United States.
