A beautifully matched pair of Lane Mid-century Pagoda End Tables.
As with all good things, Lane Furniture started with a bit of imagination and investment. John Lane started it all when he bought a manufacturing facility in Virginia. Boxes were their initial product offering. Fortunately, Ed Lane, his 21-year-old son, took his father’s advice to heart and started creating cedar chests. Since neither of them was certain it would succeed, the company’s first items were produced under the name “Standard Red Cedar Chest Company.” After the brand gained popularity, the rest is history, as they say! In 1951, Lane took a stab at occasional tables. In 1956, expansion resumed with the introduction of case goods, and in 1965, accent pieces with the Lane brand were produced.
