Large French B10 Bookcase Cabinet by Pierre Chapo, 1960

A truly beautiful and well preserved large sized B10 bookcase with adjustable shelves, designed by Pierre Chapo and made in his own atelier in France, 1960. The B10 is one of the more familiar designs that Chapo made, and this particular piece still is in a very good fully original condition, despite Elmwood is sensitive to discoloration or sun damage. There are no significant marks of usage. The wood is honey coloured and has a lovely grain. There are a lot of little woodworking details such as the invisible door handles. The beautiful, crafted corner connections are of course a trademark for the designs by Chapo which he used in many of his designs. The shelves are adjustable, and the closed cabinet below features 3 folding doors with shelves behind. The work of Chapo combines ancient woodworking skills and tradition with a contemporary approach. In designing his distinguished pieces, Solid oak, elm, teak and ash were mainly used.
