Comfortable and cozy armchair designed by Pierre Paulin for Artifort. Steel frame with molded wooden shells covered with foam and upholstered in an original red fabric. The fabric is in good vintage condition with slight wear and discolouration. The lacquered steel frame shows wear and is light scratched. The chair is available for full restaurtion with reupholstery and newly powder coated frame if desired.
A striking feature of this design classic are the two identical shells, which together form a pleasant bowl to sit in. Soon the armchair was nicknamed Orange Slice because of the resemblance of an orange cut open. The Orange Slice chair was designed by Pierre Paulin in 1952 and was released by Artifort in the sixties.
