Additional Information:
In addition to the model name (B64), this design by Breuer bears the nickname “Cesca” – named after his adopted daughter Francesca. An armchair of this design is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The chair was manufactured under license by several tubular steel companies across Europe: Auping (Holland), Vichr & Robert Slezak (Czech Republic), J. A. Talos (Austria), Embru (Switzerland) & Mauser (Germany). The original from Thonet is extremely rare and is sought/traded worldwide. It was used, for example, in the winter garden of Professor Paul Griesser in Bielefeld.
