Vintage Design
Armchair manufactured by Jacob & Josef Kohn in Český Těšín (Teschen) between 1900 and 1918. The model entered the company’s production program around 1900 (the oldest known display in the company’s catalog). The model was very popular and timeless, because it lasted in the production program until the end of the company’s operation. The model was taken over by many competing manufacturers, including the most famous Thonet company. The model was also very popular with the famous Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier, the founder of modern architecture, after whom this chair is often named. Firm and compact, with a beautiful patina of age. Perfectly cleaned and polished with shellac.
