This is a original antique Thonet chair no. 14 with a beautiful patina and a new matted seat. Chair no. 14, also called bistro chair, designed by Thonet was, next to chair no. 18, one of Thonet’s most popular chairs. It has a half inner arc in the backrest and was produced by the Austrian designer Josef Hoffmann, probably around 1900. This model is still produced, but now as no. 218. This chair has a new hand-matted seat and in the past has it had a repair? Over the years it has acquired a beautiful patina but it is still in a good and stable condition.
