Originally designed by Jens H. Quistgaard in 1961, this is a staved and lathed Teak wood carving board made by Dansk in Malaysia in the mid to late 1980s. Known as Model 1635, it has a single pouring edge and moat for capturing meat juices, and doubles as a cheese and charcuterie serving tray that is sleek, functional, and built to last. Made of both light and dark Teak end-grain that has been lathed to a smooth finish, this is one of the darker boards – with chestnut and coffee colors in the staved butcher-block center carving surface.
It measures 17.5″ in diameter and 1″ in height.

moreThe board is in overall fair to good vintage condition. There is a minor chip on the underside of the outer rim (see photos), some scuffs on the bottom, yet the surface is intact and there are no scratches or utensil marks. It has been thoroughly cleaned and revived with food-safe oil and beeswax to nourish and preserve the wood. Any wear is commensurate with its age and past usage. less
