19th century whaler made carved and turned ebony stemmed cup. “Manila P.I.” painted on one side. Manila, Philippine Islands would have been a port of call on a long whaling voyage.
Likely made by the ships cooper, It makes a great shot glass, perhaps a fancy way to drink ones dram of rum onboard.

This is a beautiful vintage set of Bavarian cut to clear stemware in six colors. There are no apparent labels or markings, but the set of six wine glasses appears to be in the style of Ajka Marsala or Nachtmann Traub. I have owned them for about 20 years and purchased them from an antique dealer who did not know the provenance on these lovely glasses. The glasses are approximately 8-3/8 inches tall and 2-3/4 inches in diameter. One each in a Ruby Red, Cobalt Blue, Golden Yellow, Emerald Green, Deep Purple and Rose. Perfect for all your festive occasions.
