Amazing shaped and one of a kind wall mounted table made by an unknown artist in the Netherlands, 1970s. Made from hand-sculpted ash wood. It has a cool organic shape and an orange/brown hue. The multiple layers of the wood are built up really nicely. It’s a unique piece probably inspired by the works of Wendell Castle and a real eye-catcher. The table has a central base with an organic-shaped top and a rounded front flowing into the back. Two large arms on the left and right that go up a bit and should be against the wall. On the left side, there’s a volcano-shaped piece with an open hand-shaped top, showing the maker’s craftsmanship. Really nice to use in a living room area with two chairs around or in a hallway as a conversation piece. You’ll need to mount it on the wall using two anchors for the best stability. Truly one-of-a-kind design and therefore a one-of-a-kind opportunity! Wendell Castle was famous for his pioneering use of stack-lamination, a woodworking technique he introduced in the 1960s. It was based on a 19th-century sculptural technique used for making duck decoys. Stack-lamination allowed Castle to create large blocks of wood out a series of planks, which were then carved and moulded into the biomorphic shapes for which he is best known.

Rare coffee table designed by designer duo Giuseppe Nerone and Gianni Patuzzi and Manufactured by Gruppo NP2 in Italy in 1966. This is an early work by NP2. The table has a Trani marble top and a dark grey painted metal base which has a very nice a-symmetrical form. The top has a nice patina from age in the middle there is the circle from the D63 module by NP2. Also does the top show amazing veins. The whole table is in very good original condition. Trani marble is the most famous and appreciated stone extracted in Puglia (one of the most important regions for the stone sector, second only after Tuscany). Better known as Trani stone, has been used very often in architecture not only locally (such as the Cathedral of Trani, built entirely of Train almost a millennium ago) but also at the national level. Trani is quarried in the Murgia area, near the Trani extraction basin, where there are numerous quarries. Gruppo NP2 was an influential artistic collective that operated in the Torino area. Known for their innovative and avant-garde approach, the group made significant contributions to the art scene during their active years. Led by talented artists, including Nerone Ceccarelli and Gianni Patuzzi, Gruppo NP2 left a lasting impact with their unique style and creative endeavours. Stunning coffee table with organic shaped walnut base the design is attributed to Ico e Luisa Parisi, Como Italy 1950. A similar dining table from Ico Parisi is documented in; Roberto Aloi ESEMPI Di arredamento moderno di tutti il mondo ‘Sale da pranzo’ page 207. The table has an amazing shaped sculptural base in walnut and a thick hardened glass top. Both parts in excellent and original condition.
