Vintage Design

Fantastic set of 6 so called T chairs, designed by William Katavolos, Ross Littell, and Douglas Kelley in 1952 and manufactured in Italy by ICF De Padova. These chairs have metal frames that are chrome plated and made of metal tubes, with a black T-shaped frame holding them together. The chairs also have seats made of amazing cognac leather that has a beautiful patinated look. The leather is still strong and feels great to sit on. These chairs are famous because they have multiple T-shapes in them, which is why they’re called T-chairs. The leather sling seats are attached at three spots – the back and both sides – and they are clamped between the horizontal part of the T. If you look closely at the black part of the frame, you can see another T shape. These chairs are not easy to find in their original condition, which makes them even more special. The T-chairs by Katavolos, Littell, and Kelley are a wonderful example of creative design that’s both comfortable and stylish.

Vintage Design

Stunning shaped and super quality pair of lounge chairs made by unknown designer and manufacturer, Italy 1970. Of course, these chairs are very similar to designs by Ross Littell, William Katavolos and Douglass Kelley. The chairs feature steel tubular frame in high quality chrome plating. The seats are finished with black and white canvas straps. Although we didn’t find out who made these (yet) the quality on these chairs is remarkable and this is proof of a good producer obviously. A nice detail is the flat chrome strip on the side of the tubular frame, this is both functional and contributes to the design which makes them more special and playful. These nice sized lounge chairs look nice in a black and white combination. They are in good original condition and the canvas has a nice patina from age and usage. The chrome is still nice and shiny. They seat very comfortable too as they are nice large sizes chairs. Priced and sold in a set of 2.

Vintage Design

Very nice sculptural S28 chairs designed by Pierre Chapo and made in his own atelier in France in 1972. Pierre Chapo discovered Alsatian architecture, the wood structures of the traditional half-timbered houses and the tried an tested household furniture. The interior of a home was the vital space in wintertime, and the heart of the house was a large table, where family and friends gathered for meals and winter evenings. Struck by the traditional “Aslation chair,” Chapo decided to modernize it . In 1972, he designed the S28 chair, keeping the basic characteristics of the “Alsatian chair” but ridding it of its decorative elements. The back is made of a single piece of Elm wood, the seat is in solid flat Elm an the four legs point outwards. Each piece of wood was shaped with care and precision. The S28 is a modern chairs that maintains the silhouette and comfort of the “Alsatian chair.’ The chairs are in fantastic original condition. Priced and sold in a set of 6 chairs, also 3 separate ones available. These chairs were purchased together with the T14D and are a great match. The table you can find here. Vintage Design

Rare first production Revolt chair designed by Friso Kramer for Ahrend de Cirkel, Holland 1953. This chair was made for the TH delft who commissioned Friso Kramer and Ahrend to decorate the new interior. These famous TH delft chairs are from the first production started in 1958, this specific chair was from 1958 so from the very first production. This example in black and white with a grey lacquered frame is in impeccable condition. The chair has a folded metal base which was very strong ciranol seat and back. This chair is rare because there weren’t so many chairs in black and white and the facility of the TH delft burned down and a lot of the furniture was gone. The chair has the TH delft metal tag on the side with date and serial number. The chair is in fantastic original condition, the grey lacquered metal frame has only minimal wear from age and usage. The seat and back have very minimal wear from 50 years of usage and there are no cracks or chips to the ciranol. This is for a very hard to find, collectible chair in pristine condition. The designs of Friso Kramer are highly sought after because of their progressive designs. Even though this chair was designed in 1953, this is still in production at Ahrend. with few modern changes to the materials but the shape is still identical. Friso Kramer was a functionalist, all of his pieces are well thought about and amazingly executed. Even though most of his designs were produced in large numbers the process before that was really intense and time taking. And the result of that was a great production process with fantastic ergonomic result. Friso Kramer is often compared to Jean Prouve. Musea often show the Revolt chair next to the Standard chair by Jean Prouve, not withour reason.

Vintage Design

Really nice set of 4 Aluflex folding chairs designed by Armin Wirth and manufactured by Hans Zollinger Sohne in Switzerland in 1951. Known for their convenience these chairs are lightweight and have foldable seats allowing you to stack and store the four chairs in the space typically occupied by just one. Despite their transparent and light appearance they offer comfort and support just like regular dining chairs. Constructed with tubular aluminum frames and seats and backs made of painted birch plywood they not only look sleek but also provide a pleasant seating experience. Notably, three chairs have a painted FDB mark at the back. This was probably the previous place the were. Though the specific location remains unidentified. The ALUFLEX metal tag sits at the back of the frames. Super practical and colourful chairs that you can enjoy for a long time! Kindly note that these are priced and sold in a set of 4. Over the course of his career, Armin Wirth has worked on a wide variety of projects, ranging from furniture and interior design to household appliances and lighting. His creations are characterized by their minimalist aesthetics and innovative functionality. Armin Wirth has won many awards for his designs, including the prestigious Red Dot Design Award. His designs have been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world and are part of the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, among others. Armin Wirth also taught industrial design at various art and design schools in Switzerland and abroad. He died in 2017 at the age of 77.

Vintage Design

Nice small and rare sized industrial ‘Reform’ table designed by Friso Kramer for Ahrend de Cirkel, Holland 1955. This dining table was a part of the Reform table program that was designed by Friso Kramer in 1955. The Reform series contained a lot of variety of tables in different sizes and editions to the client’s needs. One thing was always the same, the structure of the base, applied in several different sized and shaped tables. This base was a folded metal frame which was light but also very strong. The tops varied from hardcore, linoleum, Formica and wood. Whatever the client wanted. This has a rectangular shaped top, finished with white formica and an aluminum edge. The table has a grey painted frame in good condition with normal wear and losses. This table comes from TH Delft which was the first biggest project Ahrend did in 1957/1958 and the school was fully decorated with furniture from Friso Kramer. The project was so big that the production for this used until ca 1965. We have matching Revolt chairs available from the same school building if wanted. The table won, like a lot of designs by Friso Kramer, a Signe d´Or for its functionalism and design in that period! Would look great in any mid-century modernism design interior! Chair is not included but available in another listing Provenance TH Delft 1963 The designs of Friso Kramer are highly sought after because of their progressive designs. Even though his items were designed several years ago, they still fit in the daily interiors. Friso Kramer was a functionalist, all of his pieces are well thought about and amazingly executed. We are specialized in the industrial designs by Friso Kramer and we have built a large collection of Friso Kramer furniture.

Rare Revolt folding chair designed by Friso Kramer for Ahrend de Cirkel, Holland 1953. Though the Revolt chair was already designed in 1953, the production started in 1958. The chair has a folded metal base which was very strong and a blue ciranol seat and back. This chair is rare because the folding chair was only used in several buildings in Holland and Belgium. Vintage Design

Very elegant set of 6 ‘model 422’ dining chairs designed by Arne Vodder and manufactured by Sibast mobler, Denmark 1960. These dining chairs have a high spine back which is very nicely crafted in a way only the Danish could. The back is slightly curved which gives additional seating pleasure and also aesthetically this is very visually appealing. Because the back is constructed of spines, it gives it an open look and they also provide additional comfort. The chairs are made of solid teak wood which has a very nice honey colour, and this is still in very good original condition. It has a gentle patina from use but this adds character to the chairs. All chairs are marked with the metal Sibast Mobler tag underneath the seats. The original soft green upholstery is still in a good condition but could be changed upon request. The chairs are sold in a set of 6.
