Vintage Design

Fantastic set of 6 so called T chairs, designed by William Katavolos, Ross Littell, and Douglas Kelley in 1952 and manufactured in Italy by ICF De Padova. These chairs have metal frames that are chrome plated and made of metal tubes, with a black T-shaped frame holding them together. The chairs also have seats made of amazing cognac leather that has a beautiful patinated look. The leather is still strong and feels great to sit on. These chairs are famous because they have multiple T-shapes in them, which is why they’re called T-chairs. The leather sling seats are attached at three spots – the back and both sides – and they are clamped between the horizontal part of the T. If you look closely at the black part of the frame, you can see another T shape. These chairs are not easy to find in their original condition, which makes them even more special. The T-chairs by Katavolos, Littell, and Kelley are a wonderful example of creative design that’s both comfortable and stylish.

Vintage Design

Highly rare original pair of hunting chairs designed by W.D. Andersag and manufactured by Piacenza in Italy in 1959. The chairs have a stunning original patinated cognac leather. This patina makes them even more special and unique in their character. These super shaped lounge chairs have a warm solid teak wooden frame and a natural leather seat. The leather seat is held by leather cords that go through the frame on the sides. The stretched leather seat is very comfortable with the feather filled cushions for extra comfort when seating. Also the head cushion adds great comfort. A nice detail are the partly leather wrapped armrests. Stunning structure and outstanding patina from age and usage. Marked with retailers sticker which shows their authenticity. Kindly note that the listed price is for 1 chair. The ‘hunting’ chair represents a design that shows timeless aesthetics and functionality. Conceived during a period when design was evolving towards cleaner and more functional lines, the chair captures the essence of that moment in history, while offering a comfortable seating option. In the post-war period, the approach to design was undergoing a significant shift, where the focus was moving away from elaborate and ornamental forms towards a more functional and essential simplicity. The leather is reconditioned with a leather care product special for vintage leather. To give the leather some strength, color, and protection again after many years of usage.

Vintage Design

Stunning shaped and super quality pair of lounge chairs made by unknown designer and manufacturer, Italy 1970. Of course, these chairs are very similar to designs by Ross Littell, William Katavolos and Douglass Kelley. The chairs feature steel tubular frame in high quality chrome plating. The seats are finished with black and white canvas straps. Although we didn’t find out who made these (yet) the quality on these chairs is remarkable and this is proof of a good producer obviously. A nice detail is the flat chrome strip on the side of the tubular frame, this is both functional and contributes to the design which makes them more special and playful. These nice sized lounge chairs look nice in a black and white combination. They are in good original condition and the canvas has a nice patina from age and usage. The chrome is still nice and shiny. They seat very comfortable too as they are nice large sizes chairs. Priced and sold in a set of 2.

Vintage Design

Very nice sculptural S28 chairs designed by Pierre Chapo and made in his own atelier in France in 1972. Pierre Chapo discovered Alsatian architecture, the wood structures of the traditional half-timbered houses and the tried an tested household furniture. The interior of a home was the vital space in wintertime, and the heart of the house was a large table, where family and friends gathered for meals and winter evenings. Struck by the traditional “Aslation chair,” Chapo decided to modernize it . In 1972, he designed the S28 chair, keeping the basic characteristics of the “Alsatian chair” but ridding it of its decorative elements. The back is made of a single piece of Elm wood, the seat is in solid flat Elm an the four legs point outwards. Each piece of wood was shaped with care and precision. The S28 is a modern chairs that maintains the silhouette and comfort of the “Alsatian chair.’ The chairs are in fantastic original condition. Priced and sold in a set of 6 chairs, also 3 separate ones available. These chairs were purchased together with the T14D and are a great match. The table you can find here. Vintage Design

A pair of light grey polyester lounge chairs model No. 416 designed by Wim Rietveld (son of Gerrit Thomas Rietveld) and Andre Cordemeyer for Gispen, Culemborg 1957. This first Dutch polyester armchair was made of on piece of molded polyester, a new technique for the Dutch furniture making market. This experimental chair was a success and the start of something beautiful. The seat is supported by a tubular solid metal frame with rubber shock mounts. This chairs have an amazing light grey color with visible fibers and are in very nice authentic condition. These chairs are extremely hard to find and in a pair I have never seen them before. Only once in a long while a single chair pops up and mostly its in bad shape, not the amazing original condition these are in. Literature: Barbara Laan and André Koch, collectie Gispen, meubels, lampen en archivalia in het NAi, 1916-1980, Rotterdam, 1996, p. 51, with an illustration of a similar chair.

Vintage Design

Rare desk which is an early design by Michel Ducaroy for SNA Roset, France 1950. SNA Roset, later became Ligne Roset. The desk is made from solid mahogany with a rich warm red/brown hue. The desk is set up as following. Standing on four slightly tapered feet, the desk has a wide first top with a golden webbing. The second top is made of glass and provides a nice contrast to the mahogany base. A fun feature is the overhanging section on the right side of the desk that offers extra space for books or small items. The upward-facing side makes it a nice and playful design. The glass top is secured by small brass clamps at the corners. Brass screws are subtly visible in multiple places and are a beautiful detail. with its small size this desk is ideal for various settings, from home offices to hallways. The desk is in excellent condition. The chair on the pictures is not included in this listing. Michel Ducaroy was born in 1925, into a family of designers and furniture makers whose activities were split between private houses and larger-scale contracts (liners, exhibitions, official buildings). Drawing from his background he trained at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts in Lyon, and in the family business, before branching out alone as an independent designer in 1952. Since his first contact with the Roset company in 1954, Michel Ducaroy has rapidly become one of their most integral designers. In the early days of Ligne Roset he was by far one of the company’s key attributes in pushing the technological boundaries. In 1968 he designed one of the first modular all-foam chairs, the low-sitting Adria, and then amongst others Kashima and Safi, which had large cushions on a frame of altuglass. It was in 1973, that he designed the now iconic Togo.
