Very rare P40 armchair, designed by Osvaldo Borsani in 1955 for Tecno. It is in excellent condition, has been reupholstered with an original fabric in shades of iridescent gray/green visible in the photo, the metal frame is in very good condition and has a slight patina due to age and attesting to its originality. This particular model is of rare value because it has different dimensions from standard models, the height being 103 cm.
P40 is the original movable-element relaxation armchair, composed of a metal pedestal that supports the pivoted seat and backrest to allow all intermediate tilts between open and fully retractable. A fold-down element under the seat accommodates the legs, and is complete with a removable metal footrest, while the headboard is extendable and the steel and rubber armrests fold down for easy seating.
