Vintage Design
Highly extraordinary postmodern desk designed and manufactured by unknown artist called Tidis, Belgium 1980s. This sculptural desk has high quality features and extraordinary woodworking skills. The top is fully hand crafted out of 1 piece of wood; you can imagine how big that tree was. It has an organic shape, almost flower like, paying a tribute to the tree it was made from. The top has nice lines and a beautiful wood tone. Since the artist needed the entire size of the tree, the knots have become a part of the design. with very nice visible grain and at a few points these parts have been highlighted by stones that have been glued to the top. This desk is an amazing example of art meets design. As it is as much a piece of art, as it is a piece of design. The bases are made of tube-shaped bluestone parts which are stacked on top of each other, and the entire desk is in balance solely due to gravity.
