Vintage Design
A truly beautiful and well preserved B10 bookcase with adjustable shelves, designed by Pierre Chapo and was made in his own atelier in France, 1960. The B10 is one of the more familiair designs that Chapo made, and this particular piece still is in a very good condition, despite Elmwood is sensitive to discoloration or sundamage. There are no significant marks of usage. The wood is honey coloured and has a lovely grain. There are a lot of details such as the drawers that seem bulky, but look refined at the same time. The beautiful crafted corner connections are of course a trademark for the designs by Chapo which he used in many of his designs. The work of Chapo combines ancient woodworking skill and tradition with a contemporary aproach. In designing his distinguished pieces, Solid oak, elm, teak and ash were mainly used.
