Vintage Design
Very nice and elegant high quality sideboard model 20 designed by Niels Moller and manufactured by J.L. Møller Mobelfabrik in Denmark in 1960. Made with top-notch craftsmanship the sideboard has a beautiful warm rosewood veneer with a deep, rich red/brown colour and an amazing grain pattern. The design is sleek and modern, a true representation of Danish mid-century modern. Slide open the two doors with their square integrated handles, and you’ll reveal two large storage compartments with shelves, along with three drawers. The top drawer even has a special place for cutlery. A notable detail is that both the shelves and drawers are made from the same rosewood veneer, giving it a luxurious and sophisticated appearance. The sideboard is in fantastic condition, showing its timeless quality. You’ll find the Danish Furnituremakers Control emblem on the left inside – a mark of authenticity and quality. The sideboard is fully refinished with high quality UV protection lacquer with preservation of authenticity. Also, completely structural checked and ready to use. Niels Otto Møller created some of the most adored designs in 20th c. Danish furniture. Møller completed his apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker in 1939 and then continued on to study at the design academy in Århus, Denmark. In 1944, he founded J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik A/S, a company for which he produced designs and managed the production. The company is still active and family-owned. N.O. Møller is known for the elegance of his furniture and highly-skilled craft. Twentieth-century Danish design was founded upon the principle that beauty is found by stripping away ornamentation rather than adding it, requiring the craftsman to rely on the materials, form and skill of their own hand. Møller often worked solely in rosewood and teak, which accentuated the elegant curves of his designs. Møller’s designs are some of the most timeless and sought-after pieces today.
