Crafted in yellow lacquered metal and chrome, this piece epitomizes the elegance of mid-century Minimalist Italian design, serving as an emblem for Colombo’s artistic vision. Its versatility shines through its highly adjustable features, allowing the shade to be rotated both vertically and horizontally. Originally conceptualized in 1965, this iconic lamp continues to be meticulously crafted by Oluce in Italy, utilizing traditional manufacturing methods and prioritizing attention to detail, quality materials, and artisanal craftsmanship.

Spider, honored with the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award in 1967, holds a place in the permanent collections of esteemed institutions such as the Triennale di Milano, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Kunstmuseum in Düsseldorf, and the “Neue Sammlung” Museum in Munich. In 1972, it was prominently displayed at the MoMa in New York as part of a groundbreaking exhibition that propelled Italian design onto the international stage, titled “Italy: the New Domestic Landscape.”
