Originally designed by Kai Kristiansen in 1956 and manufactured by Schou Andersen Møbelfabrik, the No 42 chair is one of the most well known designs in mid century Danish furniture.
Constructed from a rosewood frame in the iconic ‘Z’ silhouette, the chairs have cushioned seat and back cushions which have been reupholstered in multi-coloured stripe fabric by Paul Smith.
The sleek shape of the No 42 chair was designed to be as comfortable as it was aesthetically pleasing, which is why it has remained a truly classic piece of furniture.
This set of dining chairs would add a touch of midcentury Danish design to any contemporary living space or dining room.
